The Summer Public Interest Fund (SPIF) enables first-year Wharton MBA students to pursue summer internships in the public sector by supplementing basic salary needs. The fund is financed by first-year students who pledge 1-2% of their summer salaries in support of their fellow classmates. Sample internships include: · New York’s Office of New Schools · Foundation for International Community Assistance in Africa · William Penn Foundation in support of Philadelphia communities Fund recipients’ total summer compensation for a 10 week program must not exceed $10,000 including funding from alternative sources.
