Welcome!
The University of Pennsylvania welcomed the Beta chapter of Sigma Delta
Tau to its campus on June 20, 1920. During recent years, SDT has been
rewarded for our participation in countless community service projects,
including our national philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America and
the founding of “Reading Stars.”
The sisters of SDT are extremely active in many aspects
of both the Penn community and the surrounding Philadelphia community.
Many sisters participate in campus organizations such as FLASH, DART,
GUIDE, Fox Leadership, the Daily Pennsylvanian, the UA, and class boards.
Others are members of singing groups, dance groups, and sports teams
from intramurals to varsity! In their free time, many sisters also volunteer
at CHOP, the Ronald McDonald House, and with the West Philadelphia Tutoring
Project, just to name a few! In addition, our annual philanthropic event,
Late Night with SDT, is always successful in raising an impressive amount
of money, which is donated to Prevent Child Abuse America and able to
help many children in need.
