Location
The TESOL Workshop is held in historic Philadelphia, PA at the University of Pennsylvania and hosted by the Language
and Literacy in Education division at the Graduate
School of Education. State-of-the-art classroom facilities outfitted with the latest
educational technology are used.
Food and Lodging Participants are responsible for their own food and lodging during the workshop. Several hotels are conveniently located near the University of Pennsylvania campus including the Inn at Penn and the Sheraton Hotel. A diverse selection of restaurants and bars are located on or near the campus for easy access to meals and quick snacks during breaks. For more information about dining options click here. Transportation Many major international and national carriers fly to Philadelphia International Airport. A taxi from the airport to the University costs between $20 and $30. Public transportation is also available through SEPTA on the R1 Line. Amtrak and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) Regional Rail service Philadelphia 30th Street Station near the University. In Philadelphia, the #21 bus runs along Walnut Street (west bound) and Chestnut Street (east bound), stopping at 38th and Walnut near the workshop location. The Market Street subway (blue line) runs east-west along Market Street, stopping at 40th, 34th (University of Pennsylvania), 30th, 15th, 13th, and 11th Streets.
