 I wanted to draw your attention on something that Professor Mika Tsekoura sent me. Please take a minute to read what I am attaching below. Professor Speros Vryonis to Lecture in Philadelphia

Professor Speros Vryonis Jr. will lecture on his recent book The Mechanism of Catastrophe: The Turkish Pogrom of September 6-7, 1955, and the Destruction of the Greek Community of Istanbul and this will be followed by a book sale & signing as well as refreshments. The lecture will take place on Friday May 12th at 7:30pm at Patterson Auditorium in Matheson Hall (Drexel University) on Market & 32nd Street. The event is sponsored by the Hellenic University Club of Philadelphia.

As you might know, most of the people now involved with the Hellenic Association will be soon graduating. If you are seriously interested in getting involved over the next years please let me or Peter know so that we show you the way around the listerv and website before we leave. So if you are interested in taking care of the website or volunteering for president etc. contact us asap!

As the Hellenic association Website will be closing up for Christmas, we would like to wish you the best for this holiday season. Happy holidays to you and your families and the best of luck for the new year. A big thank to you to everyone who contributed to our holiday dinner and took some time off of their busy schedules to put together an amazing meal (with lots of leftovers :) . Finally we would like to urge everyone to support any charitable events that fellow students kindly organize. We will resume in January with more fun activities and parties downtown! Kales Giortes.
