First get together!
~posted Sep 21 by Peter
Hi all:
The first meeting of the Hellenic Students Association will be on
Friday, September 23 at 6PM. Please come to 4044 Walnut Street, Apt. E (just hit the buzzer and someone will let you in). This will be an informal get together, so if you're a freshmen, come to meet the veteran Greeks (and vice versa). Greek coffee will be served as always, tavli will be available, and we're working on getting enough ouzo for everybody.
I hope to see everyone there.

Easter Festival
~posted Apr 28 by Peter & Panos
Hi all:
Easter is this Sunday. For those going to church on Friday for the Epitaphio service, please be there at
7PM. We actually need students to carry the Epitaphio. On Easter Sunday, church begins at 12 noon. We will have a member of our association reading the service in German (if any of you know another language and wish to say the Agape Service in that language, please let me know). After the service, we will have our Easter feast at the church. Father Nektarios will graciously provided a goat, lamb, spanakopites, tyropites, salad, etc. for the meal. Please email me back if you will attend so I can tell Father Nektarios how many to expect. Everyone is invited, and we need a few people to help set up. It promises to be a great meal and a great time so I hope many of you show up. Kali Anastasi!!

Politiki Kouzina
~posted Feb 28 by Maria
Hey everyone, we will be showing the film "Politiki Kouzina" in Williams Hall tomorrow (Tuesday) room
301 at 7 pm. This Greek film (with English subtitles) was made about two years ago. Filmed in Athens and set in Constantinople, it is about a Greek astronomer that was born in Istanbul but was forced to move to Greece when he was a child.
Just when he is about to go on sabbatical in the U.S., his grandfather -who still lives in Istanbul- becomes ill. He is then forced to go back and revisit his birthplace and the memories that come along with it. One of the most important parts of the film is his families involvement in cooking and how gastronomy was a central part of the culture. This is a wonderful film and I hope you all will be able to come see it tomorrow!

and be sure to check out the pictures we
took!

That's right, on
December 7 we're going to have our
first dinner as HSA association at either Zorba's or Effie's restaurants

faculty, learn about their current positions and listen to some interesting
academic (and not only) stories.
Also, this is your chance to get to know better your fellow Greek undergraduates
and graduate students. Either way, dinners are a lot of fun and
we urge all of you to join us, if you haven't already done so!
