About APSCMISSION STATEMENT Founded in the fall of 1995, the Asian Pacific Student Coalition (APSC) exists as an alliance of Asian Pacific American student groups at the University of Pennsylvania. The primary purpose of APSC is to represent the interests and causes of the Asian Pacific American community to the University administration, as well as minority concerns outside of Penn. APSC also functions to promote and celebrate the richness of Asian Pacific American culture, facilitate communication between student groups, and provide a forum of discussion on issues of student concern. APSC activities include coordinating the Asian Pacific American Heritage Week, the Asian Pacific American Student Organization Community Fair, the Resource Guide for incoming freshmen, a monthly newsletter on APA political issues, and various other events. APSC also participates in the development of the Asian American Studies Program and efforts to increase funding and resources at the Greenfield Intercultural Center and the Pan-Asian American Community House. Each year, APSC's constituency formulates goals that the body focuses on accomplishing. The goals we have decided upon for the 2007 term are:

We are always working very closely with the Asian American Studies Program, the Latino Coalition, the United Minorities Council, and UMOJA on issues where our interests intersect. APSC also resides on several committees, councils, and boards, for the purpose of best representing its constituency to the Penn and greater Philadelphia community. These include:
