MISSION

To understand the challenges which face the inhabitants of Olive Hill and help the community.

 

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Learned about the people we helped, the people we worked with, and each other

Cleaned up rooms at Grahn Community Center

Treated a bridge at Carter Caves Park

Paneled walls and shampooed carpet at Olive Hill learning center

Woodworking and basic circuitry

Mock-interviewed members of the Olive Hill Adult Learning Center

Learned about Appalachia when we went to an Appalacian Church service

Learned about horses and bourbon distilling

Picking up garbage along a river and finding a raft

Guys defeating the girls in Catch Phrase and receiving 5 min massages

Visiting the best bookstore in the U.S. – Joseph-Beth bookstore

Group games (mafia, ghost, password, catch phrase)

Murder mystery (caught in Spanish web)
