MISSIONWe set out to flex our community service muscles and do some good hard labor to help out families who needed new houses. (We were also hoping to find some good southern cooking!) ACCOMPLISHMENTSWe shoveled, and hammered, and sawed, and lifted, and shoveled, and shoveled, and shoveled all week! Believe it or not, the 13 of us shoveled 72,000 TONS OF GRAVEL for the foundation of a house for a 10-person family – that’s 18 elephants of rocks yo. Throughout the week we worked on 3 different foundations, put in support means and floor boards, built a porch, and put the roof on a shed. We worked together, sang together, got sore together, and, of course, laughed together. Most importantly, we made some unforgettable friendships. We can’t wait for more Richmond-family reunions!
