Alternate Spring Break 2002

Fort Worth Habitat for Humanity
Fort Worth, TX

MISSION

The Fort Worth, Texas trip was a Habitat for Humanity site. We set out to help Habitat build houses for people in need.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

We started from a slab of concrete and did the frame of the house in one day. By the end of the week, we had put up the walls, roof, windows, doors, and even hurricane-prevention things (hurricane straps). We all had a great time, made some great new friends, and learned some great teamwork skills.

ENTERTAINMENT

  • Drove to Dallas @ 11:30 pm to go to the bathroom
  • Drove to Oklahoma!
  • Went to Ft. Worth stockyards & saw a cattle run - took pictures on cattle
  • Ate - a lot of meat!
  • We went to downtown Ft. Worth - Sundance Square
  • Blasted Shakira & Ja Rule in the car
  • Drove to the desert - or tried to - ended up taking pictures of a street sign somewhere west of Ft Worth and driving back
