Alternate Spring Break 1998

Habitat for Humanity
Miami, FL

The pictures you see on this page are just a taste of the Miami Website so check it out.

You will be involved in daily constructions projects. These projects will help Habitat for Humanity meet its goal of providing affordable housing to families in need. You will be immersed in a community and be in contact with people who deal with the issues of poverty and homelessness on a daily basis.

You will not be alone. You will joined by 13 other students, two of which will be site leaders. These site leaders will be training in facilitating discussions, dealing with issues, and bringing your group together.

Miami is an incredible city located in southern Florida. It is diverse- 59.7% of its residents are foreign-born. There's a strong Hispanic influence in the area that gives it a unique feel. Miami is host to the Orange Bowl annually. Orange Bowl Stadium is shown in the picture on the left. For more information check out Miami's Website.

Check out the Habitat for Humanity website for descriptions of the work they do.
