ASB Raffle Mania!

Thanks to the hard work of participants, site leaders, and board members, we have collected an impressive array of items to raffle off. A top notch necklace, a television, a Sirius radio, a new cell phone, gift certificates, gift baskets, and more are up for grabs. The idea is to sell as many tickets as possible before our drawing date of April 28 (penultimate day of classes). Following the spirit of the auction, this will be a trip competition. All tickets you sell will be attributed to your trip's tally. The trip that sells the most tickets wins a dinner at Civic House for your entire trip during reading days. We promise the meal will be excellent. We will contact the winning trip after our drawing during our evening meeting on April 28th.

Here's what you can do

First is the ticket template (download the ticket template here). Print out all that you intend to sell and fill them out with all of the information. Each ticket is for one of three drawings: Jewelry/Clothes, Electronics, and Gift Certificates, as indicated on the ticket. Pick only 1 raffle per ticket. Any and all filled out tickets must be brought to Civic House by 6 pm Monday April 28th. There will be times to drop off collection money every Sunday 5-7 pm at Civic House.

Secondly, you have the information sheet about the Raffle (download our flyer here). Print this if desired as tool to assist ticket sales.

ASB needs your help to make this work

Selling tickets at a dollar a pop (with deals of 7 for $5 and 15 for $10), we hope to raise $1000. If you all sell 10 tickets, we can make this happen! The Board will be out on the Walk up until the big drawing day giving up their time to fund raise. You could sell 10 in a hour easy. Help ASB help our nation.

Where?

Island Beach State Park
Ocean County, NJ

Island Beach State Park is a preserved barrier island in Ocean County, NJ, that protects a number of natural shoreline and near shore habitats. The park contains close to ten miles of sandy beach, an extensive shoreline along Barnegat Bay, dense maritime forests, rolling sand dunes, and tidal marshes. Island Beach is also home to foxes, ospreys, other wildlife, and more than 400 species of plants.

Service

The theme for this trip is environmental protection. Volunteer activities will be largely based outdoors and might range from invasive plant species removal, bayside cleanup, assisting with Ocean Fun Day, landscaping, and gardening.

Cost

Approximately $150 (inclusive of food, accommodation, and transportation.

We will be renting a beautiful beach house right outside Island Beach State Park.
