THE ACTION AGAINST SOL SCHUMANN
Written by Jeffrey Sweet
Directed by Lesley Berkowitz

Two brothers – Michael, an assimilated Jew with a Gentile wife, and Aaron, an activist for Jewish-American causes who has attracted the attention of a tenacious female reporter – find their lives turned upside down when the U.S. Office of Special Investigations files shocking charges against their father, Sol Schumann, a Holocaust survivor. The Schumann brothers, along with Aaron’s friend Leah, must confront their family's dark history in order to contend with the investigation that follows. The play is a dramatic tale, inspired by true events, that raises questions about identity, forgiveness, and the nature of justice.

“An unusually thoughtful and provocative script, rich in drama… This is a play to remember!” – Chicago Tribune

“Serious, highly theatrical, entertaining.” – NPR Chicago

“Half as long as last year’s production!” –Teatron board
