alpha Kappa Delta Phi was founded upon the principles of
sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, and Asian American awareness. The purpose of our sorority is to promote these values in our University and community, while maintaining a sense of individuality amongst our diverse group of women. Throughout the year, the sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi continually organize and participate in events which help us further our dedication to such values.

One of the pillars of our sorority, sisterhood is the special bond we all share, not only within our own chapter but across the nation. Whether it's taking road trips to visit other chapters or just having coffee together, it is at the very heart of our sorority and of each individual sister. We hold regular sisterhood events just to relax, have fun, and get to know each other even better!
Our sisters are held to high academic standards in their time as part of the sorority. We recognize that our primary goal in college is to obtain a valuable education; with that in mind, the sorority Academic Chair leads the sisters in helping each other to maintain good academic standing.
aKDPhi sisters are leaders in the sorority, campus, and beyond. With their valuable leadership experiences as part of the sorority, the sisters apply their skills as to member and leadership roles in other organizations. Each
sister's profile lists the activities that she takes part in on campus.

The sisters of aKDPhi are not united by a single ethnicity, but rather by the strength found in their diversity. aKDPhi strives to provide Asian American women on campus with a strong role models and to educate the community about Asian American issues. Here at UPenn, aKDPhi was a founding organization of APSC (Asian Pacific Student Coalition), the umbrella organization for all APA groups on campus. We also participate regularly in events such as APAHW (Asian Pacific American Heritage Week) and spreading awareness in the larger community through service projects, forums, and fundraising.
As a non-profit organization, one of the main goals of the community service projects sponsored by aKDPhi is to utilize the strengths and skills of our sisterhood to help the community. Every year, the sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi dedicate our time, money, and effort into these projects. Past philanthropic projects include:
- raising money and participating in walks for charity
- volunteering at the Philadelphia Food Bank and various soup kitchens
- planting trees for Arbor Day
- painting wall murals to help beautify the city of Philadelphia
- cleaning up parks in various areas in Philadelphia
- participating in Habitat for Humanity projects
- participating in Philadelphia Cares Day
- volunteering for the community in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- projects centered around our National Philanthropy - Breast Cancer Awareness

As a social organization, the sisters of the UPenn chapter host a variety of events every semester, from mixers to parties in downtown Philly. Many of our events are hosted with other campus organizations, such as Lambda Phi Epsilon, our national brother fraternity, other Greeks and APA groups. If you interested in co-sponsoring an event with us, please contact our Social Chair.
